Storehouse of Faith

What is life? Is it not joy and hope? For without these, what is life? If you do not have My joy, what is now? If you do not have My hope, what is tomorrow? Today I give you My joy and My hope that you may live today. Know that many times in the days to come, faith in Me will be your hope and joy. But I have prayed that your faith will not fail so that you can still live through the night, for new joy comes in the morning.

Receive and build your faith in these days as a storehouse to sustain your life when others will lack. Though the world may steal your worldly goods and security, they cannot take your faith in Me. You have food they know not of that is greater than your trial and gives eternal reward. This will be a season of abundance of faith. Store it up for the journey across the desert to your new home. I will lead you. I will guide you. I will sustain you. I will give you joy. I will give you hope. Trust in Me.

James 1:2-4

Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have {its} perfect result, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

Hebrews 10:35-39

Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised. For yet in a very little while, He who is coming will come, and will not delay.

But My righteous one shall live by faith; and if he shrinks back, My soul has no pleasure in him. But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul.

Commentary

This prophetic word is about living by faith, which does not really mean suffering or lack. It just means that God will speak things to you that don’t appear to line up with the worldly circumstances. Therefore you must agree with Him to live by faith in Him.

The word first relates that the quality of your life is related to your joy and hope. Joy for the present and hope for the future. God is promising to supply both of these if we will choose to live by faith, which means to believe Him and his word over the apparent circumstances. The world may say bad things are coming, but the Lord may say that everything is going to work out for your best. Some things may look good but the Lord says not to do it. The reference to helping you through the night means the times when it seems very dark and it is very hard to see what is really going on. During this time, your faith will sustain you peace, joy, and hope.

The prayer that your faith doesn’t fail relates to the time when Peter was sifted and Jesus prayed that his faith wouldn’t fail. This was fulfilled when Peter denied Christ three times because of fear, but he never turned from Christ. Fifty days later he preached boldly before thousands about the very Christ he had just denied. So I have to believe that even though he was fearful and weak and failed to stand up for Christ, He still made it through with his faith intact and recovered nicely.

The second part of this word says that there will be difficult times ahead where things don’t look like they are going to work out. But the Lord is saying that because your faith will be built up, or stored up, you will be able to endure the situation without losing ground. It actually says that you will joy and hope because you know that it will lead to a real victory in Christ. This was like the cross for Peter. Things looked really bad, but it was a perfect plan executed perfectly for Peter and for all of us, that receive such a great salvation.

I believe if the Israelites would have been able to follow this, they could have made it across the desert to their new home. I pray that we will as Joshua and Caleb and are able to give the good report and make it to the promised land.
