DELIGHT … YOURSELF … In the LORD

To Delight means: to find great pleasure, great satisfaction, joy in something (someone), to be highly pleased, (greatly) gratified.

Biblical Reference: Psalm 103 & 37, Is. 58:4, Ps.21:2; 145:19

DELIGHT is a miraculous thing to DO.

DELIGHT is a miraculous WORD to speak, to know, to live in.

What choice will we make? What may we be allowed /enabled to do?

What does He do? What has He promised in this delighting?

We should delight ourselves in the Lord – A part of the formula.

He will give us the DESIRES of our heart – B part of the formula.

A = B to the Eternal Power

Look at these blessings added to the above formula: as we delight ourselves in our Lord and put Him first, we are reminded by His Holy Spirit to

Forget not His BENEFITS – sounds like delight.

He HEALS ALL OUR DISEASES /SATISFIES OUR YEARS WITH

GOOD THINGS; OUR YOUTH IS RENEWED LIKE THE EAGLES – doesn't that sound like delight?

Our Father has always given us and the world so very much more … beyond all imagination. He has asked us to: find our delight in

Him … the very reason all of us were created.

Our heart and soul are continually looking to delight in Him and will never, never, never find greatest pleasure, greatest satisfaction, joy in something /someone, a highly pleased life - otherwise.

Let us think /meditate /chew this spiritual meat in humility and reverence as we receive, believe, taste and see that He and His Words are His Good and His Faithfulness, all for our heart and soul's greatest benefit.

The chief thing is to seek wisdom. Wisdom is Him, it is His Word - Living and Written. All of the Good Life grows in the rich soil of Wisdom.

Let us DELIGHT ourselves in the Lord first and foremost (Psalm 37:4-7), cultivate faithfulness (when He comes back will He find faithful Christians?), receive the delights /desires of our hearts, commit our ways to the Lord, trust also in Him … and He will do His Part to the Eternal Power as we wait patiently for Him.

Commentary:

Have you noticed we spend much of life waiting:

waiting at appointments

waiting on lunch dates

waiting on spouses

waiting on children

waiting on meals to cook

waiting on packages and planes to arrive waiting on games to start

waiting on things to finish, things to start.

Even in the Word we are asked to patiently wait for the return of our Lord.

To do waiting well doesn't mean avoid doing anything else.

We are to go about our Father's business and get wisdom – His chief thing. So, we focus on Jesus the Living Word of God; learn His ways through intimate relationship; and, chew on God's written Word day and night – sounds like a LIFE-FOCUS DELIGHT to me.

This powerful spiritual process of putting Him first as we find our delight in Him (A part of the formula) has a powerfully pleasing fruit:

He has promised to give us the desires of our hearts (B part of the formula). This further enlarges us to “allow” Him to grow our measure of faith, further enlarging our hope and trust in Him as we delight in having our focused eyes on HIM.

What human being would not want to know why he was

created, what gives his life greatest satisfaction, greatest pleasure, gratification and joy? And where for do all of these come together

into a greatest hub – DELIGHT? Remember only good comes from God and that is the only place where DELIGHT originates, where it can be found. He is the only one who has all those greatest things living inside of Him, Jesus and His Holy Spirit. Our minds and hearts are looking to find, searching to be filled with, Him alone.

He is our Delight and we are His delight – it is written that this was His plan all along our spiritual path.

Choose this day to delight in Him yourself … we will find what we've always been looking for ... His fertile soil of wisdom and the reward of causing our Father, His Son and His Holy Spirit to have delight in us as He gives us our heart desires in fulfillment.
