2012: Consider it All Joy

It is not about what is coming for 2012, it is about who is coming.  For many new ideas and events will flourish.   Some good, some bad.  But what is important is not what is happening, but who is behind what is happening.  For great deceptions are coming and only that which is of Me will bring forth My blessing, My grace, My power, and My glory.  For I can take even the most difficult times and situations and pour out a blessing.  Yet the enemy can show forth great wisdom, wealth and prosperity that takes many into the captivity that leads to destruction.   You must know Me and Know My voice to know the difference.  Walk close to Me this coming year, and I will guide you, protect you, bless you, and amaze you.  Let the adventure come forth and consider it all joy.

1 Corinthians 2:6-10

We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.  No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.  None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"--     but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

James 1:2-7

Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.  And let endurance have {its} perfect result, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.  But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.  That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord

 Commentary

This word says that we must discern who is initiating the events and ideas that will come forth in this new year.  For many things may seem like good ideas, but they may not be God’s idea.  So as we go forth into the new year we should seek God directly about what He is doing and walk in His wisdom.

Consider that the world is moving quickly toward a single world government and central financials controls.  These will seem like great ideas and the solutions to our global problems.  But are these God’s ideas.   If not, they will lead to the prophesied destruction.   Only God through Jesus Christ will be able to rule the world to bring true peace and prosperity.   But even in the midst of the turmoil of man’s folly, God can still bring peace and prosperity to those in this world that are His and obey His voice.   So choose to serve Him the coming year rather than trust in man’s government and man’s solutions.

1 Corinthians 2:6-10 reveals that in the time of Jesus’ first coming, man’s government and religion failed to properly discern that Jesus was from God and those that should have worshiped Him, crucified Him.  So it is prophesied in His second coming that the world once again will not discern the truth, but will follow the path of destruction to final judgment.  Many in the church have often criticized the Jews for not recognizing Jesus, but many Jews did and they formed the New Testament church.   The question to the church today is whether a majority, or whether just a remnant will be walking with Him when He soon comes again.   Jesus’ letters to the churches in Revelation seem to indicate that, as it was with the Jews, only a remnant will overcome the world to be ready for Him.

The last sentence of the word is , “Let the adventure come forth and consider it all joy.”  The first part says to “let” the adventure begin meaning that you must choose to walk boldly into the coming year.  The last part of the sentence seems to refer to James 1:2-7 which may have much to say about the year ahead.  Versus 2-4 indicate that various trials are coming in the new year that will test our faith.  But promise for those that “pass” is that you will be found “complete and lacking in nothing”.  That is an excellent promise for 2012.  Even though there will be trials in 2012, God will still make us complete and lacking in nothing if we walk in faith.  Hallelujah!

James 1:5-7 continues with the blessing that God will give us wisdom generously if we come to him without doubt.  That tells me that the key to success in 2012 is to walk by faith.  But it concludes with a warning that if we don’t trust God and walk in faith, that we will not receive these blessing from God but instead become unstable and be swallowed up in the storms of the world in 2012.
