I Am Faithful
Be not discouraged in these days, for I hold the past, present, and future. Let Me write your book of remembrance that you may know that I have been faithful. For the enemy would rewrite your book with your fear and failure. But I hold the past also, and it is filled with My faithfulness, not your failure. For your hope is not in your success, but in My faithfulness. Trust Me now, for I am faithful. I have determined a path and a destiny that lies ahead if you will press forward with faith in Me. Press on, drive forward, don’t hold back. Know that if I saved you from the mouth of the bear and the lion, then this Goliath will be as one of these. For Goliath cannot determine your future, but I can. Trust Me and I will.
Malachi 3:13-18
"You have said harsh things against me," says the LORD. "Yet you ask, 'What have we said against you?' "You have said, 'It is futile to serve God. What did we gain by carrying out his requirements and going about like mourners before the LORD Almighty? But now we call the arrogant blessed. Certainly the evildoers prosper, and even those who challenge God escape.'"
Then those who feared the LORD talked with each other, and the LORD listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the LORD and honored his name.
"They will be mine," says the LORD Almighty, "in the day when I make up my treasured possession. I will spare them, just as in compassion a man spares his son who serves him. And you will again see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.
Commentary
This prophetic word declares that we should not be discouraged because of current situation in the church, the country, and the world. The passage above from Malachi 3:13-18 is a rebuke from the Lord to those that said “It is futile to serve God”. But the Lord’s people instead wrote a book of remembrance of God’s faithfulness, and the Lord was pleased. He then declared that “in the day when I make up my treasured possession. I will spare them”. This means that someday soon when He returns, He will make right the wrongs and reward the faithful believers for eternity.
In the prophetic word above, God is saying that much of this discouragement is based upon the rewriting of the past by the powers of darkness and discouragement. This demonic version seems to show that God has not been faithful and that all is hopeless. But God is faithful and the truth of history will show it, in the world and in your life. God is actually the one keeping score. He is the one writing the books of history that will remain for eternity. He is the true and faithful witness as He declares to the Laodicea church.
Revelation 3:14-16
To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation. I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm-- neither hot nor cold-- I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
In this passage, the Lord reveals himself as the true judge who has the final word (the Amen). His account is “faithful and true” and He has the authority and His word is the one that counts.
So as this prophetic word says, His account and His focus is on His faithfulness to you, not your failures. Therefore your faith and hope should rest on His faithfulness, not your failures. Do not allow the enemy to rewrite your history as defeat and failure, trust God and press on. He will surely be faithful and reward your faith in Him.
